Leakage due to gas strippers: this is caused when the rubber cracks, a ring breaches or when the material ages.

Leakage due to splits: this is caused when the injection process is defective or when the material ages.

Swelling and longitudinal splits: produced by hose aging or failures in the rubber or internal texture. First the material swells and it leads to a cracking.

WHY AND WHEN YOU SHOULD REPLACE A HOSE

Imagen

It is necessary that you inspect the engine to check if the hoses are damaged; aged or too stiff (because they can split open).

When hoses crack or they are blocked, your car can release liquids or bad odor. Thus, you should change them immediately.

If the hose has a failure, many other parts of the engine can be damaged, such as the water pump, the internal cooler or the radiator.

How to identify it:

1. The whistling noise of the steam that is being released through an opening or hole.

2. The nasty smell which is typical of the antifreeze.

A) If the leak of the radiator´s hose is close of the ends, very close to the clamp, the best and simplest thing to do is to cut the hose and then replace it

because the material has already aged.

B) If the leak is located in the central part of the hose, it will be necessary to replace the reparation set made by Cauplas which is sold at any car spare part store.

D) If the failure is located in one of the hoses of the heating system, you can repair it by cutting the damaged part and joining the ends again with a clamp. This would be a temporary repair for you to continue the journey. So drive your car to a mechanical repair shop as soon as you can so it can be inspected and have the hoses replaced by a new set.

TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS WHEN TRAVELLING

When you are about to travel, whether you are going on vacation or on business because you are a travelling salesman or a seller, we recommend you to inspect your vehicle, specially the cooling system. How to do it:

1) Clean the radiator panel by removing all the debris and strange objects that get stuck, block and build up in the radiator surface, and then wash it with pressurized water, if possible.

2) Revisar que las mangueras no pierdan, no estén resecas ni hinchadas, no muestren grietas, y conserven cierta flexibilidad. Incluso se debe revisar el trayecto de la calefacción.

3) The liquid inside the cooling system should follow the maximum and minimum levels of the recovery tank or expansion tank, if otherwise you should add a coolant. It is advisable to change the coolant every 35.000 km and to wash the recovery tank thoroughly.

4) It is advisable to carry with you MULTIPURPOSE OR FLEXIBLE HOSES just in case you have a problem. If one of the hoses cracks and you cannot find technical assistance around, you can use the previously mentioned hoses to continue the journey. They are universal hoses of different sizes; they are flexible and they have an internal spring to be shaped as needed and continue travelling until you can replace it with the original CAUPLAS hose that best fits your vehicle.
